Module 3 Overview
There are numerous quantitative design methods, everything from descriptive to the gold standard of randomized controlled trials. In between are correlational and quasi-experimental. Other types of research are systematic reviews and meta-analyses (both types of literature reviews that combine multiple studies on the same topic and use the combined results to recommend practice changes). The purpose and research questions will determine the method of the study.
After completing this module, you will be able to:
Appraise the design of a quantitative study.
Compare research designs of quantitative studies.

Select one quantitative research article to read for this week’s discussion forum. What quantitative research design was used in this study? What are the advantages and disadvantages of using this quantitative research method for this study? Use a URL or permalink from the university Library for your research article in your post (do not upload a PDF of the research article).
Remember to respond to at least two of your peers. Please refer to the Course Syllabus for Participation Guidelines & Grading Rubric.
