Task Leadership Activity and Disruptive Disorder
Leadership plays a critical role in the success of any group by uniting members in pursuant of a common course. From the assigned case reading, the leadership exercise will help members to introspect and review their contributions to the group. Through effective leadership, members will identify their strengths while at the same time; they will work to improve their deficiencies. This will increase the group’s chances of succeeding.
From the assigned management case, the task-oriented leadership would be setting goals and developing a blue print on the ways of achieving them. Since the team is working at an incredible rate to complete the project, setting goals is an essential step. Hence, if the activity were to take place, it would help participants to focus on the present task by shifting the focus from their personal lives (Johnson & Voelkel, 2019). What is more, the activity will motivate the participants to see the benefits that will emerge following the project completion. In this regard, one of the maintenance activities that should be encouraged is the log machine hours versus the actual schedule (Johnson & Voelkel, 2019). This leadership and maintenance activities will ensure that every team member has a correct reflection of the time they believe they dedicated towards the project.
Furthermore, numerous disruptive behaviors should be discouraged for the team to succeed. They include not supporting the conduct from proceeding, abstaining from a contention or yelling match, avoiding the use of mockery, and desisting from contacting the understudy (Sudha et al., 2016). From the identified behaviors, the most significant behavior that should be discouraged is disrespecting the concerns of other participants. In a group setting, all members have an equal opportunity to contribute their views and expertise, which will guide the project progress (Sudha et al., 2016). In this regard, the concern of every members should be dealt with individually. While contributing, the members should exercise decorum and engage their colleagues in a meaningful manner for a fruitful venture. Collective participation is central for the rapid success of any initiative and therefore it should be supported.
