          How New Telehealth Telemedicine Technology Will Support Improved Patient

                                Outcomes and The Organizational Effectiveness.

Telehealth uses digital communication and information technologies such as mobile and computers devices to access healthcare services remotely managing individuals’ healthcare. New Telehealth technology to support enhanced patients’ results will control infectious diseases (Siddiqui et al., 2017). For example, healthcare providers will use telehealth appointments to help stop the spread of flu, COVID-19, and other infectious illnesses to prescreen clients for probable infectious diseases. Less contact with other individuals’ germs will help everybody, particularly the pregnant, the chronically ill, elderly or the immunocompromised. The technology in relation to organizational effectiveness will help lower the healthcare costs, drive up the revenue and efficiency, afford clients ideal access to healthcare-based services making the clients stay in the organization. Organizations benefit more when clients remain in.

Goals, Elements and Overall Scope

Common telehealth goals may include refining patient outcomes, increasing patient engagement and satisfaction, and reducing costs of care and hospital readmissions to garner implementation support. Elements, in this case, may consist of collaboration tools that enable hospitals to link patients with the providers like tablets, smartphones and laptops. Other resources can be medical peripherals, loud-based services and workflow. The overall scope would involve high specialists seeking advice over the patient complications to complex medical reports, clinical data and diagnostics tests via the technical device.

                                How The Technology Will Affect Quality and Safety

To affect quality, telehealth technology will allow for ideal long-term care management and patient satisfaction; it will bid new ways to locate the health information and communicate with the practitioners, thus increasing ease for the patient and minimizing the amount of possible travel essential for both the physician and client (Alvandi, 2017). For safety, Telehealth will allow an increase in patient adherence to care, ensure access to care is enhanced, enable providers to network with others, and monitor patient safety more closely in homes and living facilities.

One of the outcomes measures the organization will apply to define the effectiveness of telehealth technology is patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). It falls within the category of patient experience outcome measure. PROMs “assess patient’s involvement and perception of the healthcare. The information may provide a more accurate patient satisfaction gauge and real-time data for the local service enhancement and enable faster response to the identified issues. Another outcome measure is the effectiveness of care. This outcome measure evaluates two things which are compliance with the best practice care procedures and achieved outcomes.

                          Outcomes Reflective of The Quality and Safety Concerns

One of the outcomes reflective of quality and safety concerns is that some services would not fully covered due to a lack of technological skills, leading to out-of-pocket expenses. Another significant outcome is compromise of personal health data transmitted electronically. This can lead to more complicated issues with patient healthcare.

                                       What Outcome Measurements Data Show

The outcome measurements show an explanation of results and also the risk classification of patients. The outcome measurements as well reveal financial impact & cost. This can mean looking at the cost per visit, client travel miles saved, or return on investment.

The use of telehealth technology is associated with patient confidentiality and privacy concerns. For a typical telehealth system where a healthcare provider communicates with the client, appropriate threats may involve a breach of privacy during the collection of complex data when spreading to provider’s systems, unlawful access to the function of supporting devices and the information stored on them; and untrusted spreading of hardware and software to patient.

                               Information Security Concerns Likely to Be Raised

These may include lack of informed consent, increased compliance needs, profound identity and access management improved third-party risks and unpatched software in the consumer environments.

                                  How I Will Allay Information Security Concerns

First, information security concerns will be allayed by appointing a HIPAA security officer (Hille, 2021). Secondly, I will develop and execute action plans for the gaps acknowledged in self-assessment. Thirdly, I will implement the safeguards across the continuum, audit contracted teleradiology healthcare providers and finally create policies and actions related to data security.

         If Technology Provides Any Enhanced Safeguards That Would Be a Selling Point

Telehealth technology affords enhanced safeguards that can be a selling point. For instance, it safeguards consumers from infectious illnesses. Healthcare providers use telehealth appointments to prescreen patients for probable contagious diseases such as COVID-19 and flu.

To deploy telehealth technology, the following steps and timeline are needed. The first step is to establish a strategy and the set goals; secondly, gather a cross-functional team; thirdly, check necessary protocols, rules, and reimbursement and fourth step partnering with the consistent technology firms. The fifth step may include designing a plan to increase the plans uptake, the sixth step to completely adapt and execute technology, the seventh step to encourage the feedback from staff and patients and finally define the performance frequently against the goals and act accordingly. The timeline for effective deployment can be estimated to be approximately two years.

I can train the staff by first scheduling the training sessions with vendors, gathering and issuing FAQs to reference, planning for a mock system assessment, sending the team on the site visits, providing additional training chances, and encouraging patience.

Responsibilities of Staff for Implementing an Action Plan

To implement an efficient telehealth plan, the staff will require finding and assessing telehealth candidates, enrolling and managing the patients, confirming healthcare provider orders and patient accord, and managing device record and use.

According to Kamani (2021), the resources essential to implement telemedicine may include the staff, strategic partnerships and technology.

        Timeline for Telehealth Deployment Considering Potential Causes of Delay

Delays when deploying Telehealth should be measured to define the whole timeline for the implementation. Causes of delays may include workforce issues like lack of collaboration in installing softwares and power faults. Considering these causes, it can thus take an institution around 24 months (2 years) to deploy telehealth technology to effective operation.
