Successful completion of this assignment requires that you provide rationale, include examples, and reference content from the studies in your responses.
Use the practice problem and two qualitative, peer-reviewed research article you identified in the Topic 1 assignment to complete this assignment.
In a 1,000-1,250 word essay, summarize two qualitative studies, explain the ways in which the findings might be used in nursing practice, and address ethical considerations associated with the conduct of the study.

Background of Study

The significance of the research study is to nursing is to provide evidence on the understanding of addiction to food and the impacts on the development of obesity and overweight from the perspective of obese and overweight people. The research purpose was to look into the views of obese and overweight people regarding addiction to food, and its potential impact on the decision to get treatment, stigma, and support of the policies for reducing overeating. The objective of the study is to provide evidence on how the problem of food addiction is understood and its impacts on obese and overweight people. The question that the research seeks to answer is “what are the views of overweight and obese individuals on food addiction and its impact on the decision to seek treatment and support for policies to reduce overeating?”

The development of obesity especially in young people may be influenced by the parent’s decision and choice of lifestyle behavior for their children. The significance of the study to nursing is the provision of a better understanding of the beliefs and attitudes of parents on the lifestyle behavior of children and how it influences obesity and overweight. The study purposed to investigate Latino fathers’ attitudes, beliefs, and practices that relate to the eating habits, sedentary behaviors, and physical activity of their children. The objective of the research was to provide evidence on the influential role of fathers in their children’s lifestyle behaviors affecting their health. The research tries to answer the research question of “What are the attitude and beliefs of Latino fathers on eating, sedentary behavior, and physical activity of children?”

They help the researcher uncover the attitudes and beliefs of the participants regarding a particular topic. Focus groups are appropriate for studies that seek to explore the attitudes and beliefs of participants. The limitation of focus groups is the possibility that participants may not provide honest opinions, and it increases biases in responses provided. This can lead to incorrect findings and conclusions of the study.
