The module is a clinical teaching module carried out over two trimesters. This is necessary to achieve access to relevant facilities, support and materials. Credits are obtained at the end of the second trimester once successful assessment is completed. This module is a 4.5 month clinical placement in a specialist elective setting under the direct supervision of a Senior Clinical Psychologist. This placement provides opportunities for candidates to develop specialist assessment and intervention skills with a clinical population of particular interest to them.

Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
• Complete an assessment for difficulties in a specialist clinical setting
• Formulate a range of presenting difficulties in a specialist clinical setting
• Report those formulations and plan, deliver and assess the outcome of suitable evidenced based interventions
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team work in specialist clinical setting
• Contribute to staff training in a specialist clinical setting
