A Description of your Core Values

Core values are the fundamental principle that guides a person or organization. They determine the actions of an individual, and they also act as a guide for individuals to differentiate between right and wrong. As a leader, my core values include integrity. I firmly believe that integrity is the key to any good leadership; it encompasses being reliable, honest, and trustworthy that one will act according to their words. As a leader, I need to ensure that I always mean what I say and fulfill every promise I make to those working under me. This ensures that those under me can trust what I say and promise them. Integrity also includes accepting one’s mistakes and not blaming them on their staff. Another core value is respect for oneself and others. This involves recognizing the inherent worth of others in the group and honoring that worth through the words and the actions that I express towards others. Treating others with dignity and compassion will lead to better cooperation and more superior results. Humility is also one of my core values. I always acknowledge that I do not know everything, and there is something io can always learn from others. This allows me to approach others with an open mind and listen to their ideas and different ways of solving the challenges we encounter. A significant advantage of this value is that it ensures that every person can contribute, which makes them feel recognized and accepted in the organization (Busari et al., 2019).

A Personal Mission/Vision Statement

My vision as a leader is to be a transformational leader who can recognize the ability of others and support them to reach the peak of their potential while achieving the organization’s goals.

Analysis of your Strengths Finder Assessment

Clifton Strength assessment is a test that assesses the strength of an individual to help them understand the areas they should build on based on their abilities and strengths. From the test, my strengths include restorative; I enjoy bringing things back to their natural state or even making them better. It means that in love solving challenges that will contribute to restoring things to the state they were before, and it can be motivating and re-energizing when I solve challenges. Another strength is that I am a learner; I enjoy learning and acquiring new knowledge about the subjects of interest to me. Whenever I encounter a new subject or topic, I will try to learn as much as possible to move from ignorance to competence level in that subject. This strength is essential in the dynamic work environment when working on different projects that require learning different skills to accomplish the assignments. The other strength is that I’m inquisitive. I love to learn and collect things, including information and other tangible objects that pique my interest. The strength is related to learning about new things, topics, and subjects. Being an achiever is also a major strength. I am driven by results which means that I’m not easily satisfied with what I have already accomplished, and I always strive to achieve more every day. Being an achiever translates to discontent with current achievement and struggle to conquer new challenges and improve current status. Positivity is a major strength for me; I constantly look for the positive side of every situation. This is essential in developing relationships with other people, as I am likely to concentrate on their strengths rather than their weaknesses.

A Description of Two Key Behaviors that you wish to Strengthen and how to Develop them

The two behaviors that I would want to strengthen are communication; all leadership depends on the leader’s ability to communicate with others. Communication forms the basis of developing relationships with other people, which drives cooperation to achieve the desired goals. Therefore, I need to develop and strengthen my communication behaviors and skills as a leader. The other behavior is the ability to motivate and inspire others. The ability to inspire and motivate other employees is key to ensuring that they share the vision and work towards achieving the set goals, and therefore as a leader, I have to strengthen this skill (Andriani et al., 2018).

To strengthen my communication skills and behavior, I plan to attend seminars and classes that teach effective communication. There also exists extensive literature that teaches communication skills from which I also plan to learn. Communication skills can be developed by interacting with people regularly; this will assist me in learning what individuals want when communicating with them and other essential skills such as active listening and observing non-verbal cues, which are crucial in communication. Motivating and inspiring behaviors are influenced by the ability of a leader to communicate with others. Therefore, by developing my communication skills, I hope to communicate better and develop good relationships with the employees, which is essential in motivating and inspiring employees (Alsayyed et al., 2020).

How you Plan to Achieve your Personal Mission/Vision

To be a transformational leader, I plan to attend the relevant leadership seminars to develop the necessary leadership skills that are essential for good leadership. Such seminars will be important for developing leadership skills, including communication and employee relations. By developing communication skills, for example, as a leader, I will communicate better with the employees, which is essential for developing relationships that allow the leader to discover more about their employees, what matters to them, and their ambitions. Using such information, the leader can focus on supporting empowering the employees to achieve their potential (Busari et al., 2019).
