MDCS40220 Vasarhelyi Method Part 1
Academic Year 2021/2022
This module is part of the MSc. in Child Art Psychotherapy. The module is designed to provide an understanding of the theory of child art psychotherapy within the framework of child mental health. It is one of two major course modules and is delivered through a series of lectures, seminars and case presentations. It is taught throughout the course in conjunction with Method Specific Supervision along with the modules on Child Art Psychotherapy Training, Clinical Supervision and Experiential/Reflective Group Work in a way that the trainees simultaneously acquire the theoretical knowledge and skills necessary for the competent, professional practice of child art psychotherapy. Both modules are closely linked with the clinical placement.
100% attendance is expected, but 80% attendance is the minimum attendance required to achieve credit for the module. Absences must be discussed with the module coordinator or course lecturers, who will require supporting documentation (e.g. medical certificates). Students who miss part of the module may be asked to do a further piece of work in remediation.
