3. For each of the three experiments:
d) List the methods you used to conduct the experiment (sometimes it will be several, like cell transfection, followed by immunoprecipitation, and western blot). Remember to show the same experimental outcome with two different methods or with pharmacologic (drug) and genetic (siRNA or CRISPR or gene overexpression) ways to alter protein activity/expression. You can cluster those under the same “experiment.” Prioritize “cause and consequence” experiments over “correlative”. Make one of the three experiments in vivo (in animals).
a) List your experimental groups, including the controls (what do you compare to what? No explanation needed). If you are going to use chemical treatments, indicate tentative concentrations and treatment time. If you are using antibodies, state what they recognize.
b) What are the expected results if the hypothesis is right, e.g. after protein X was knocked down/overexpressed/inhibited, metastasis to the lungs increased/decreased over control (specify the control).
