Recently, healthcare systems have evolved due to advancements in technology and the need for better and improved systems to deal with new and emerging diseases and infections. As a result, there is a constant need to ensure and uphold patient safety. Patient safety can be defined as a health care discipline that reduces and prevents errors, harms, and risks to patients during the health care delivery process (Wachman et al., 2018). Patient safety emerged due to the increased patient harm in health care facilities and from the complexity of health care systems. The main goal of this quality plan is to ensure patients are protected from any kind of harm while receiving health care through improvement on errors and adverse events that occur during patient documentation. Providing high-quality vital health services necessitates the safety of patients. However, there seems to be broad agreement that high-quality health care should be effective, secure, and people-centered across the world. Furthermore, health services must be timely, egalitarian, integrated, and efficient to reap the benefits of high-quality treatment.
Purpose of Implementing Quality Plans
The purpose of implementing a quality plan is to establish a structured continuous procedure through which the stakeholders and health care organization use objective metrics to assess and monitor the quality of clinical and operational services delivered to patients.
