Academic Year 2021/2022

Students will be active researchers and will learn about the research planning process, research skills and research communication in a “real life” food and health research environment. Research and student-led teaching and learning is embedded within the design of the “Food and Health Research Mentorship” module. Students will engage with the module coordinator to 1) plan their research, 2) define the research-based skills that they will gain competency in and 3) design a research communication strategy. Module assessment will be based around these components, to include: 1) a research proposal, 2) a reflective journal and 3) written or oral communication assignment.

Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
Understand research integrity and research-setting specific safety procedures
Discuss the food and health research pipeline from proposal stage to research communication
