Clinical practice Reflective log

During the course, I discovered that I am a transformational leader. As a transformational leader, I rely on various strategies, including clearly defining and communicating my vision to my team members, always organizing team members in the pursuance of a vision, promoting open communication and honesty, delegating and empowering my subordinates, and finally committing to continued education.

On the other hand, a transformational leader relies on different management strategies to succeed in a healthcare setting. This includes promoting partnerships with other healthcare practitioners, utilizing innovative strategies to promote transparency, and enhancing strategic planning.

Considering my current practice, setting an opportunity for improvement would include the reduction of the rate of falls in our facility by at least 10% within the seven weeks after the introduction of the fall reduction project. This is because internal organizational data suggests that there is a high prevalence of falls in my health care facility. Falls, therefore, contribute to a lot of negative outcomes among patients in health care facilities.

In my healthcare environment, I would rely on evidence-based practice models such as the Iowa model to translate research into practice and improve outcomes for patients. The utilization of evidence-based practice models helps to establish a specific procedure for translating research into practice. The use of EBP models makes the translation of research into practice easy.

The ideal project proposal that I would suggest for my health care practice would be relying on Lewin’s change management model to introduce to reduce the rate of falls in our facility by at least 10% within the seven weeks after the introduction of the fall reduction project.
